Is there a difference between ISO Accredited and ISO Compliant?
A key distinction with ISO/IEC 17025 is that laboratories are accredited, not compliant. Accreditation is a formal recognition by an authorized, independent third-party body, that a laboratory has met the requirements of the standard and is technically competent to perform specific tests or calibrations. Many companies claim to be "ISO Compliant" with no third party recognition.
